What if releasing tension in your body could be as simple as learning how to move differently?
I recently had the opportunity to attend a Human Garage workshop, a virtual wellness experience focused on movement techniques designed to help release tension and stress. I went in curious, but I honestly wasn’t expecting to notice much of a difference after just one session. However, I was pleasantly surprised.

What is Human Garage?
Human Garage is a global wellness movement founded by Garry Lineham that focuses on the body’s fascia, the connective tissue that surrounds muscles, organs, and other structures throughout the body. Rather than focusing solely on traditional stretching or exercise, Human Garage teaches hands-on movement techniques intended to help participants become more aware of areas where they may be holding tension. This organization cares about people so much that they offer their online programs at affordable prices, and if you are unable to afford it, you may pay what you can afford. The workshop I attended focused on techniques that could be incorporated into everyday life, making the experience feel approachable rather than intimidating.

My Human Garage Workshop Experience
The workshop began with an introduction about fascia, the brand, supplements, and more. Next, we were asked to stand up and begin. We were instructed on different movements and techniques designed to address areas where we commonly carry tension. Think about how often you tense your shoulders when you’re stressed, clench your jaw without realizing it, or spend hours sitting at a desk in the same position. For me, the biggest takeaway was simply becoming more aware of how much more tension I was carrying than I thought.
If you’ve been following me for some time, you may remember that I have been pretty open about my battle with TMD. I have tried so many things. From supplements to treatments, therapies, and more. Learning these movements provided some relief that I could take with me anywhere, which was nice.
The movements were not complicated. In fact, that was one of the things I appreciated most. They were techniques I could realistically see myself incorporating into my daily routine. And then I noticed something.
After just one workshop, I felt relief.
I instantly felt less tense and more relaxed, and I walked away feeling like I had given my body a chance to release some of the stress I had been carrying. Of course, everyone’s experience will be different, and my experience shouldn’t be interpreted as a medical result. But personally, I was surprised by how much I noticed after a single session. I couldn’t believe certain movements helped make such a difference. I have practiced breathwork and stretching before, but these movements were far more intentional. Now, just like everything, I am sure this can continue and garner amazing results with consistency.
The Connection Between Stress and Tension
One of the things I found particularly interesting was the emphasis on the relationship between our daily habits, stress, and physical tension. We don’t always realize how much we hold in our bodies. Trauma, work, family, relationships, financial stress, even. A stressful day can mean tight shoulders. Long hours at a computer can leave your neck feeling stiff. Anxiety or concentration can lead to jaw clenching.
What About the Fascial Facelift?
Human Garage has also gained attention for its Fascial Facelift Workshop, which focuses on facial and jaw techniques, along with topics such as collagen, hydration, toxin reduction, and hands-on fascial maneuvers. I mean, who doesn’t want a facelift without the pain or costs? As I mentioned before, consistency is key. So, yes, you can get those beautiful results, but with repetition and dedication.
The concept has attracted significant attention online, particularly after videos of celebrities experiencing fascial release techniques circulated on social media. While the aesthetic side of the practice is certainly interesting, what appealed to me most was the broader focus on movement, tension, and body awareness.
Would I Try Human Garage Again?
Yes!
What I liked most about the workshop was that it didn’t feel like something that required expensive equipment or a complicated routine. I learned movements that I could take with me and practice on my own. And sometimes, that’s exactly what I want from a wellness experience: something simple that makes me feel better and gives me another tool to incorporate into my daily routine. After one workshop, I walked away feeling more relaxed and aware of where I was holding tension. For me, that’s a pretty good reason to keep exploring the practice.
