Fall is my favorite.
I just love the fall foliage. The colors make up the prettiest background. My good friend Dawn have always talked about it so planning a road trip upstate and with the fall foliage happening in early November- the time was just right. We’re both content creators and always on the go- a getaway to a more peaceful place was just what we needed to to decompress. But also, have some girl time and getting to do all the girl things!
We stayed at the beautiful Mirbeau Inn & Spa.

Dawn and I just loved the Mirbeau. It’s conveniently located near the downtown area of Rhinebeck. It’s a cute and quaint little town with mom & pop shops, cafes, restaurants, and more. We first stopped at a boutique called Winter Sun & Summer Moon where we literally found magic jeans that fit us both perfectly- not the same pair as in the popular Traveling Pants film but pretty close! We also just had to check out Samuel’s Sweet Shop, co-owned by actors Paul Rudd (and his wife Julie), and Jeffrey Dean Morgan. After trying some of their homemade and imported sweets, we could see why this shop is so special. We also loved the town bookstore, Oblong Books. They had a wonderful selection as well as fun and quirky gifts.

We were so full afterwards, we went up to our rooms to change into our robes-which the Mirbeau encourages guests to walk around in.
- Outdoor Activities: Explore the scenic area and downtown around the Mirbeau. The fall leaves were showing off. The property had fire pits and areas to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee, tea, or wine. It was just so serene and beautiful. No noise- except our cackling, of course! haha

- Shops at downtown Rhineback: We absolutely loved the boutiques downtown! They have so many hidden gems and specialty items to offer. Don’t miss out on these small businesses- the customer service is top notch and it’s just good to shop small.
- Woodbury Commons Mall: Only one hour away, this outlet mall is one of the best I have been to. It’s got lots of designer outlet stores as well as food choices. Not to mention the beautiful scenery. Be sure to wear your walking shoes because you’ll be getting a lot of steps in!
- Winery: Stop by a few local wineries for tastings and enjoy the beautiful vineyards. Dawn and I got to visit the Millbrook Vineyards for a wine tasting and it did not disappoint. Every single wine we tasted was excellent. The sunset and views there are unreal. We had a great time.
- Historic stops: Upstate New York is very scenic and there is a lot of history. Taking a drive out there is a feast for the eyes. We enjoyed seeing the beautiful colors of the leaves and we also stopped at a few historic spots. We were especially mesmerized by the beautiful views of the Hudson River at the Staatsburgh Estate park.
Making Memories
The best part of a girls’ road trip is the memories you create along the way. Dawn and I have been friends for a long time now. We can talk for hours, laugh and be crazy together. Whether we’re jamming to our favorite songs, stopping for spontaneous photo ops, or sharing laughs over snacks, there is never a dull moment. Finding your tribe in this or any industry is truly a gift and I’m thankful we got to go on this fun road trip together. Connecting with good friends is good for the soul.
