Hello July! It’s time to do some summer things like entertaining your close chicas and throwing a summer fiesta (or BBQ). Growing up Latina, summer time meant outdoor festivities including barbecues, movies under the stars, pool time fun, or just light bites and drinks out back with family and friends around the fire pit accompanied by stories and songs. Que siga la tradicion! (let’s continue the traditions)
However you choose to embrace the summer, I have a yummy recipe for my sangria loving señoritas- I like to call these “sweet sangria ice pops”! Why should the kids be the only ones enjoying frozen treats? This is an adult treat I am just sure you will love.
Sweet Sangria Ice Pops
The ingredients:
ice pop molds
sliced strawberries
sliced oranges
sangria
orange juice
sugar
The labor:
First, fill an ice pop tray with sangria. Now this is the most important part, of course. I like to use Sutter Home Sangria. Sutter Home truly offers something for everyone, with so many different varietals. Sutter Home Family Vineyards has received over 350 gold metals including for the Sangria. So, you can see why it’s my go to brand for entertaining needs. And not to mention, it’s affordable. You can celebrate in good taste and in style without breaking the bank!
Add a splash of orange juice and a dash of sugar to each opening.
Next, slice up some oranges and strawberries.
Add sliced fruits.
Freeze and serve.
*Note- be patient with these. Freeze for a few days- unless you have a deep freezer.
I love this recipe for those hot summer days. It’s also not your average cocktail and believe me, it will grab your guest’s interest. They will want you to fill them in and share this yummy recipe with them, too. For an extra tipsy treat, try turning your ice pop upside down into a glass of Sutter Home Sangria!
I hope you enjoy this recipe as much as I enjoyed making and sharing it with you. If you try this at home, I’d love to see your pictures. Just tag me on social media. And for more Sutter Home goodness, check out these Sutter Home Summer Cocktail recipes.
Salud!
