Experience a vibrant fusion of nature and modernist art at The Orchid Show: Mexican Modernism from February 15 through April 27, 2025, at the New York Botanical Garden (NYBG) in the Bronx. This year’s 22nd annual celebration of orchids brings a fresh perspective by showcasing the influence of Mexican modernist architecture and culture on botanical design, with a focus on the bold, colorful works of renowned architect, Luis Barragán.

A Mesmerizing Fusion of Orchids and Modernist Design

The Orchid Show transports visitors to the heart of Mexico, where the beauty of orchids meets the creativity of Luis Barragán. Known for his use of vibrant colors, organic textures, and harmony with nature, Barragán’s architectural style provides the perfect backdrop for this awe-inspiring exhibit. Explore the lush Enid A. Haupt Conservatory, where you can wander through vibrant displays featuring thousands of orchids, succulents, and other eye-catching plants—all inspired by the iconic structures Barragán left behind.
