Life gets busy. Work, school, home, family, pets, the never ending invites. The American dream is exhausting. In the midst of it all, communication and real connection tend to get lost. Sometimes you simply have to unplug. And that’s just what my family and I did recently with a few friends. We packed up the 2022 Chevy Trailblazer and hit the road.

Disclosure: The 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer was provided to me for editorial use. All opinions are true and honest.
The Trailblazer comfortably accommodated three passengers, a fur baby and all of our stuff.
We were heading to the Catskills for one week so we each needed to bring a small luggage (even the dog) but since we were heading to a remote location, we had to bring food and other things to keep busy, too. My husband and his two friends went a little crazy at the supermarket stocking up on food. I was shocked at how much cargo room there was to fit everything.
*Note: This SUV got an overall vehicle score 5 in Government 5-star safety ratings!
Safety features include:
- Lane keep assist/ departure warning
- Automatic emergency breaking
- Front pedestrian braking
- Forward collision alert
- Tire fill alert
- Teen driver
- Automatic high beams
- Following distance indicator
The back seat has 3 tethers for carseats.
We happened to have a little one in the group so this was the perfect chance to test out comfort and space with a carseat. In the backseat, one adult, one toddler, and one teenager fit with a carseat in the middle. The trailblazer is a good choice for parents with little ones.
The interior design of the 2022 Chevy Trailblazer has great details.
One thing I loved about the interior design were the color choices. Black denim with bronze stitching and accents. And although it wasn’t needed (because of the season), I just love a car that comes with a leather-wrapped heated steering wheel. It’s all in the details.
The technology package in this model comes with the following:
- Wi-fi hotspot 9subscription not included)
- Apple CarPlay
- Keyless entry/start
- Sirius radio (subscription not included)
- HD review camera
- Driver info center
- 4.2 inch color display
- Bose Premium 7-speaker system
- Wireless charging dock
- Chevy Infotainment 3 Plus
- HD radio
- Power outlet, 120 Volt
- A & C USB charging ports
The Trailblazer is pretty good on gas which really matters these days.
28 MPG (26 city / 30 highway)
We stayed at the Fern Leaf farmhouse in the Catskills area.
Fern Leaf sits on a dead end surrounded by 7 acres of land, including amenities like a pool, tennis court, fire pit, and spacious living quarters. It’s a lovely contemporary farmhouse with lots of vintage decor and country charm. If you want to unplug, this is a great choice. I could only use wifi but not make any calls which is fitting for me since I truly hate taking calls. What can I say, I am quite the introvert.
On days that we didn’t stay in or around the house, we ventured off into surrounding areas. There’s a local farmer’s market on Saturdays, Bethel (home of Woodstock) is not too far, water activities, lakes and more.
Overall, it was nice to get away and change scenery. Plus, we got to escape the heatwave for a week! The Chevy Trailblazer made a wonderful companion for this little getaway. If you’re in the market for a small SUV, I highly recommend checking this vehicle out.
