I‘m all about natural oils lately. Oils for beauty, oils for better health. And it’s really no surprise that our grandmothers were right…again. No matter how much science seems to advance, what the earth produces for us is still mainly the good stuff. Today on the blog, I’m sharing some of my personal favorite oils with you.

Here’s my list of 5 oils that rock!

  1. Rose Hip Oil- this stuff is amazing! In fact, ancient Egyptians, Mayans, and Native Americans used it mainly for its amazing healing purposes. But it’s also good for anti-aging and curing blemishes. It’s full of antioxidants and vitamins that help reduce fine lines, acne, dry skin, scarring, and dark spots. It has also helped me with my scalp eczema which flares up behind my ears when I am stressed. Rosehip oil is a great natural choice even celebs like Victoria Beckham has been known for using it. Just make sure you get the organic cold-pressed version. You can find it on Amazon starting at $14+ 712swvaun0l-_sy679_
  2. Coconut Oil- On a recent trip to the Dominican Republic, I picked up some natural coconut oil. The island is known for making many things from coconut for beauty use. Coconut oil is great for the skin. It’s a wonderful moisturizer and sunscreen and even makes for a good face cleanser. Coconut oil also helps heal skin like dry, itchy, fungus or other conditions. I like spraying this oil on after a shower to maintain smooth moisturized skin. The best part is that it’s natural and if your body is absorbing something, it might as well be natural. _mg_0708
  3. Oilogic- Stuffy Nose & Cough This one is for the little ones. Allergy and cold season is here and one of the best things I discovered last year was the use of natural oils to help alleviate my daughter’s symptoms. We use lavender to help with headaches from allergies. We also use it before a test to reduce anxiety. I discovered Oilogic at a recent event. Though it’s made for babies and toddlers, it still helps my daughter out with her stuffy nose at night time. I roll some onto the bottom of her feet and behind her neck at night. It has a blend of Lavadin Oil, Orange Oil, Fir Needle Oil, Eucalyptus Oil, and Cypress Oil. Plus, Jojoba Oil and Castor Oil. All good for the little ones and you can pick it up at your local Target_mg_0704
  4. Argan Oil of Morocco by Ogx- This miracle in shower oil is great for your skin and hair. Use it in the shower all over. It’s a lightweight oil and non-greasy. You can use it straight on or add a few drops into your conditioner like I do. This is good for those days you feel dry and need to be moisturized. Argan oil from Morocco is basically a multiple-use in-shower oil that can be used for damage prevention, moisture multiplier, conditioner boost, skin moisturizer, and split ends mender. Works similar to coconut oil but is more lightweight. img_0976

Clarins Boosters- Don’t let the size of these lil guys fool you- there’s power in every drop! I was introduced to Clarins boosters recently at Bloomy’s of the Mall at Short Hills. Each one targets a different skin situation. They pair nicely with your moisturizer, serum, or foundation. And all you need is a couple of drops per use.
