This week I went to Shapes Brow Bar in the Bridgewater Commons Mall to experience eyebrow threading. First, let me preface this blog post by saying that I am obsessed with brows whether they be my own or someone else’s. I feel that your brows shape your entire face and a bad brow can alter your look.

Brow grooming has been quite a journey for me
For my brow grooming, I have waxed and tweezed, but I have heard a lot of positive feedback about threading so I decided to try it. According to the Shapes Brow Bar beauty website,
“Threading is a temporary hair removal process which originated in Asia. The threading process involves a cotton thread that is twisted, held taught and rolled back and forth over a specific area. During this process, the thread catches and removes the unwanted hairs. There are no harsh chemicals or wax, and the procedure takes very little preparation time. This procedure does involve a small amount of pain. The amount of pain will vary from person to person.
Many people find that this is the best way to get a great arch to their eyebrow. Because threading is so effective in removing even baby find hairs, make up goes on much smoother. it provides more precise control in shaping eyebrows and is more gentle on the skin.”
My experience with threading
These are some of the major reason why a lot of people prefer this form of hair removal because they are not sensitive after and there is no irritation. I was recommended to the Shapes Brow Bar in Bridgewater by a co-worker of mine and was excited to try this service. I was greeted by Rachana Patel, who was very warm and welcoming. The brow bar was very clean and organized, which is very important to me.
Prepping your brows for threading
Prior to this appointment I allowed my brows to grow out so I had about a month of hair growth to work on getting a better brow shape. Rachana started and I have to say there is little pain while getting threaded and she was done in under 10 minutes. My brows had a great shape and looked clean and even. You have to remember that brows are sisters not twins so to get them as even as possible is the goal. She showed me my brows in the mirror and asked me if there was anything I wanted to change and I said no because she did a great job.
Would I get brow threading again?
Yes! I highly recommend Shapes Brow Bar and they have several brow bars in the state of New Jersey. The technicians do a great job in a clean and professional environment.

The pictures below are of my before, after and my after when I filled in my brows. I used Ardell Brow Powder in Brown Minx and set the brows with MAC clear brow gel.
