As summer comes to an end, we feel the arrival of a refreshing cool breeze. Although it saddens me that our briefest season has departed, it also signifies a period of fresh starts. Indeed, this September will mark the beginning of numerous new chapters in my life. Therefore, I warmly welcome you, September!
Give Me All the Fall Things! But Not What Comes After…
I struggle with the weather change. Sure, I love the fall- the fashion, foliage of the leaves, trips to the farm, apple cider, pumpkins, Halloween- all of it! I am a fall baby, after all. But I do dread old man winter. There is no more depressing thought to me than to be bundled up in the house, hibernating all winter long. I absolutely hate it. Seasonal depression makes me pretty emotional and without the desire to do much. (I have yet to try a “happy lamp.”)
Celebrate the Season
So this season, I’ve decided to embrace the change (and pray winter isn’t so bad plus maybe get that happy lamp and sign up for yoga classes). This month will be filled with events starting with my daughter having to go through a surgery and procedure that will last a few weeks or more. I won’t go into detail but it will be a challenge and I just hope it goes by quickly and painlessly for her. Right after, we’ll be jumping into homeschooling. Yes, you read that right. After years of contemplating it, we decided to do it. As you can imagine, there will be some adjusting. Did I mention fashion week events all month long? Ay…
